I love playing video games and my favorite genre of video game is of the artistic variety. I put the video game Flower in that category. Flower is for the PS3 and PS4 platform by That Game Company, designed by Jenova Chen and Nicholas Clark. My son introduced me to this game and I’m very delighted he did! Flower is one of the most relaxing, beautiful games that I have ever experienced. It is a Zen poem come to life! The visuals are stunning and the game play mesmerizing. When I play flower, I feel that I’m submerged into a beautiful painting full of colour and light which is a joyous treat for the eyes. The same is true for the ears, the musical score is composed of gentle, flowing orchestral movements with a new age vibe which acts as the perfect finishing touch. Now that I really think about it, I stand corrected! You don’t play Flower, you experience it.
Flower is easy to play and no prior gaming experience is needed because the game only requires one button (any button on the controller). This makes the game great for everyone, from a toddler to granny! The game storyline also conveys an ecological message, another plus! I pop Flower in the PS3 game console when I need to unwind from a long day because it is very relaxing. This game is in my top five on my list of favorite games and I highly recommend it. You can download Flower from the PlayStation Network or for an added bonus you can get it bundled on disk with two other great games Flow and Journey, which are also by That Game Company.
